We Will Remember Them – Remembrance Day 2020
Following on from previous photos of Fort Rosecrans Cemetery, I’d like to tell you a bit about Mt Soledad National Veterans Memorial and share some photos with you.
Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial can be found at the top of the mount in La Jolla, San Diego and has 360 degree views over San Diego, Mexico and beyond.
The beautiful and peaceful location makes for a moving experience as you pay tribute to the thousands of servicemen and women who are on active duty, and those who are sadly no longer with us.
They are remembered on the walls of plaques that surround the high cross. Even though the cross has caused much controversy over the years, all faiths are honoured here.
Again no words can express the humbling experience that visiting these memorials gives you.
That’s amazing how each person is remembered with a photograph and biography. I have to say that isn’t the most attractive cross I’ve ever seen!

It is when you see it standing high above everything else in the distance.

What a great memorial – I especially love the cross, there’s a simplicity and dimensional quality to it that’s quite powerful.
