24 in 2024 Challenge

Hello, is there anyone out there? As you may have noticed, I haven’t blogged for over a year, and haven’t even read any blogs either. Sorry, life just got in the way, but I’m popping back to write about my 24 in 2024 challenge.

I read about the 23 in 2023 challenge half way through last year and decided I’d have a go at the 24 in 2024 challenge. I’m posting this really to keep me on track and to have some kind of accountability. If you want to have a go yourself, just choose 24 things that you’d like to accomplish in 2024. They don’t have to be about self improvement and could be about any area of life. I’m not viewing it like the usual new year’s resolutions that are all too easily broken within a couple of weeks, but more a list of things I’d like to achieve, mostly as a form of self care. It’s very easy to forget yourself when life starts getting a bit tough, so a written reminder, should help along the way.

Here are my 24 aims for 2024. Some will be easy for me, others not so:

  1. Walk 24 miles a week.

  2. Do 24 minutes of exercise a day (including yoga, qigong, but excluding walking).

  3. Swim 24 times during the year.

  4. Do 24 minutes of brain training at least 4 times a week.

  5. Practise 24 mins of mindfulness or guided meditation at least once a week.

  6. Visit 24 new places.

  7. Go out for the day/evening 24 times.

  8. Socialise 24 times.

  9. Read 24 books stored on my Kindle.

  10. Read 24 paperbacks from my bookshelf.

  11. Read 24 new books.

  12. Create 24 pieces of art.

  13. Watch 24 films.

  14. Leave 24 reviews online.

  15. Donate to charity 24 times/ do 24 random acts of kindness.

  16. Give 24 things away.

  17. Message 24 Facebook friends that I don’t see very often.

  18. Have 24 chatty phone calls.

  19. Send 24 cards or letters.

  20. Look up the meaning of 24 words I don’t know.

  21. Upload 24 photos a month to Instagram for photo of the day challenges.

  22. Have at least 24 portions of different fruit and veg per week.

  23. Play 24 old albums that I haven’t listened to in years.

  24. Spend 24 hours a year blogging

So, what do you think? Are you going to do something similar?
