Lest We Forget – Remembrance Day 2021
As we are approaching Remembrance Day, I thought I’d share these photos with you from Fort Rosecrans Cemetery in San Diego.
We discovered Fort Rosecrans Cemetery quite by accident as we made our way to the Cabrillo National Monument. I can’t quite explain the feelings that hit you as you turn off towards the national park and are met with several fields filled with rows and rows of white stones. It is an extremely moving and humbling experience to witness quite how many people have lost their lives in service.
Visiting these graves was so incredibly moving. I don’t think any words are needed about the sacrifices these men and women made for us all, the photos speak for themselves.
Read more about Cabrillo Monument at Point Loma in my USA Travel section.
As everyone else has remarked – truly haunting images but so important we remember – “those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.” Thank you ❤

I always find quite chilling to see rows and rows of gravestones like that. It seems we never learn though.

We never should forget it is the main thing keeping man from going that awful route again.😢😞

This photo reminds me of the D Day cemeteries and relics in France. So moving.
